Privacy policy
Last updated 30 September 2026.
Profile Upgrade reads the words you paste so it can tell you how your profile reads. You are trusting it with your career history, so this policy sets out plainly what Profile Upgrade collects, why, which services handle it, how long it keeps it, and how you can see, correct or delete it.
Who is responsible for your information
Philippe Foubert, trading as Profile Upgrade, a registered business name (ABN 22 760 848 460), Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. For any privacy question or request, use the support page or write to support@profileupgradeapp.com.
What Profile Upgrade collects, and why
| Information | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| The profile, CV, job ad or notes you paste | To write your report or rewrite. Profile Upgrade keeps no copy; the text goes to Anthropic to produce the report. | Anthropic deletes it within 30 days. A finished paid rewrite waits on the server only until your page collects it, usually within a minute, and is deleted on collection or after one hour at most. In your browser, it stays in the open tab only, until you close the tab or press “Clear everything I pasted”. |
| Your first name and email address, if you ask for a report by email | To send the report and, only if you tick the box, five follow-up notes. | Until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. |
| Your name, email address, country and purchase details, if you buy | To unlock your Profile Upgrade, send and resend your access link, and keep the records tax law requires. | Up to five years, the period Australian tax law requires for business records. |
| Your name, email address and message, if you write through the support page | To answer you. | Up to two years, so an earlier question can be found if it comes up again. |
| Your scan scores, with a one-way fingerprint of the text scanned, if you buy | To check a claim under the score guarantee. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into your text. | 12 months. |
| An access cookie, if you buy | To keep your Profile Upgrade unlocked on the device you used. The service needs it to work; Profile Upgrade never uses it for tracking. | 90 days. |
| A scrambled form of your network address | To limit each visitor to six free scans a day, so the free tools stay free. | One day; the count resets at midnight. |
| A short code naming the site that sent you, if the link you followed carried one | To record, with a purchase, which site referred the buyer. | Stays in your browser until you clear its site data. |
| Daily totals of page views, scans, checkouts and purchases, and of the site or link that sent each visitor (its name only) | To see which pages people read, which links bring them, and which parts of the service they use. The totals hold no personal information and set no cookie. | Indefinitely, as plain counts. |
Profile Upgrade does not sell your information, does not share it for advertising, and runs no advertising trackers or tracking cookies.
The grounds for using it
Where the law asks for a legal basis, as the European Union’s and the United Kingdom’s data protection laws do: Profile Upgrade handles your text, your report email and your purchase to provide the service you asked for; the follow-up notes rest on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link; the daily limit rests on the legitimate interest of keeping the free tools available and free of abuse; and purchase records rest on the legal duty to keep them.
Who else handles it
Profile Upgrade uses a small number of services to run. Each handles only what its job needs:
- Anthropic, which analyses the text you paste and writes your report. Anthropic does not use that text to train its models and deletes it within 30 days, unless it must keep it longer to enforce its usage policy or the law.
- Stripe, which runs checkout. Through its managed payments service, Stripe’s Link service sells the Profile Upgrade to you as the merchant of record (your receipt reads “Sold through Link”), and handles your card details, any tax due, refunds and disputes under its own privacy policy. Your card details never reach Profile Upgrade.
- Hostinger, which hosts the website and its mailbox, and so holds the site’s own records and the emails it sends.
- Kit (kit.com), the email service that sends the follow-up notes, and only to those who ticked the box.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typeface the pages use. Your browser fetches it from Google, which therefore receives your network address.
Profile Upgrade discloses your information to anyone else only where the law requires it.
Information that leaves Australia
Anthropic, Stripe, Kit and Google are based in the United States, so those services handle information you give Profile Upgrade there, and possibly in other countries where they operate. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, Profile Upgrade relies on the data processing terms these providers offer, which include standard contractual clauses.
Automated assessment
The score, the report and the rewrites come from an automated assessment of the text you paste. They are advice to you alone. They make no decision about you, and no employer or recruiter sees them unless you choose to share them.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask to see the information Profile Upgrade holds about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted; you may also withdraw consent to the follow-up notes at any time. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to its use, to restrict it, and to receive a copy in a portable form. Write to support@profileupgradeapp.com; you will have an answer within 30 days, at no charge.
Complaints
Please raise any concern first by email, so Profile Upgrade can put it right. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom, or to the data protection authority where you live in the European Union.
Security
The site runs only over an encrypted connection. The service keys sit outside the public part of the web server, and the records the site keeps sit in a folder the public cannot open. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever put your information at serious risk, Profile Upgrade would tell you, and the regulator too where the law requires it.
Age
Profile Upgrade serves working professionals. It does not offer its service to anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
Any change appears here with a new date at the top. If a change affects how Profile Upgrade uses information it already holds, it will email everyone on the notes list.
